Miru Ichi is the first in a series of architectural display shelves designed to present individual objects with particular care and attention. The name draws from the Japanese verb miru, meaning to view or understand, reflecting the importance placed on the objects displayed.
The design takes inspiration from the gesture of an open human palm offering a gift. This relationship is translated into the connection between the wooden support, steel bracket, and glass shelf, with each material contributing to the presentation of the object above.
Rather than functioning as conventional storage, Miru Ichi creates a deliberate setting for display. Its minimal structure allows the relationship between the shelf and the objects it supports to become the central focus.
